THE SCENE – The Modern Theater Quarterly Newsletter – Jul 2015

George Green HeadshotI find it hard to believe that it has been exactly one year.  In the summer of 2014, the merger of two theater companies began in the effort to save a struggling one.  Shortly after, The Modern Theater was branded. Since then, a whirlwind of activity has brought about change …  mostly for the good, but some mistakes along the way were expected.

I am thrilled to say that we survived the inherited first year in Spokane!  We did our very best to fulfill prior promises to donors, business partners, and patrons.  The majority of the season subscribers for both venues have renewed and we anticipate several newcomers during the fall of 2015. The 2014-15 season experienced yet another progressive growth period for the organization.

The 2015-16 Season will feature fifteen main productions, five large projects, and another four supplemental events.  Over two hundred performers will be involved and we are proud to say that we will invest over one hundred thousand dollars into talent salaries.  Both venues will see substantial improvements to their structures, grounds, and production areas.

This is all possible because of you.  If you are a new or longtime patron, thank you for trusting us with your time and your contributions.  We are very aware of the amount of theater that exists in our region.  The fact you invest your time, money, and energy with us is greatly appreciated.  If you are not a season ticket holder, now is the time to join in on the fun! We will always strive to impress you. Thank you for you support!
