Our 2015 resident playwright Matthew Harget, brings his romantic comedy about a couple’s difficulties trying to conceive a child to the stage. This endearing production will warm your heart and perhaps give you baby fever.
Matthew Harget (Playwright-in-Residence) – Although inspired by true events, Maybe Baby is a work of fiction. Matt gratefully acknowledges the contributions of all those who participated in workshops for this production. Created entirely locally, this show is Community Theater in the truest sense. Matt thanks The Modern Theater, George, Hannah, and our wonderful cast and crew. Matt thanks his family for their support and dedicates this show to his beautiful bride, Richelle, and their maybe babies, Holly and Abigail.
Hannah Paton (Director) is thrilled to be a part of this exciting season! She made her directorial debut at the Modern-CDA last year with The Nerd and is delighted to be back at it. She would like to thank playwright Matt Harget for his wonderful sense of humor and the amazing collaborative experience of workshopping this show, and her husband Jim for his endless love and support.
Todd Jasmin (George) is happy to be returning to this stage, having last appeared here as File in The Rainmaker in 2006, a production he directed, and which also played several weeks at the former Interplayers in Spokane. He was recently seen as Kyle Best at The Modern-Spokane in The Best Brothers. Todd recently joined the English Department at Lake City High School, where he teaches English, Speech and Poetry. He is honored and humbled to be a part of this production.
Brandon Montang (Chip) is excited to return to this venue. Last seen as Tom in Lucky Me at The Modern-Spokane, Brandon has been seen on this stage as Willum in The Nerd, Bellhop in Lend Me A Tenor, among others. He is excited that you are along for a fun ride in Maybe Baby and hopes you enjoy this art, a true labor of love.
Kristen Nauditt (Diana) is thankful to join the cast of Maybe Baby. Kristen was previously seen with The Modern Theatre as Sarah in Company and as a Bad Idea Bear in Avenue Q. Other favorite productions include Clue: The Musical (Detective), The Women (Olga), and Les Misérables. Kristen achieved her M.A. in Music from Eastern Washington University. She would like to thank everyone who has given her the opportunity to perform.
Aubree Peterson (Taylor) is excited to take this show from script to stage! She is a 2014 U-High grad and has been seen on multiple stages around the area. Favorite roles include Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme (Assassins), Little Sally (Urinetown), and Fiona (Shrek the Musical). She would like to thank her friends and family for putting up with her hectic lifestyle and for their unconditional love. Enjoy the show!
Gary Winterholler (Dad) has been active in theatre, commercial and film work for many years. He is a graduate of The National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York, NY. Gary has owned and operated three different theatre companies and has worked extensively as an actor. He is tickled pink to be a part of the Modern family.
Jeremy Whittington not only manages this stage, he also got to build and paint it! Jeremy has built and painted the Modern sets for Boeing Boeing, Assassins, The Wild Party, Other Desert Cities, Lucky Me, Last of the Boys and more. He was the Stage Manager for Other Desert Cities and The Wild Party as well, and he was last seen as Sam Byck in Assassins on this stage.
Mariah Smith (Lights/Sound) is excited to be working on this brand new show! After spending most of her time on stage, she’s excited to be behind the scenes! She would like to thank George Green for always pushing her, her mom for always believing in her, and her best friend Lili for doing a little bit of both. She hopes you enjoy watching this production come to life!
