George Green (Director) is a national/regional multi-award winning performer, director, and set designer. He served as the Artistic Director for the Godbold Cultural Center/Lubbock from 1990 to 1996 as well as the Director of Development of Spokane Civic Theatre from 2007 to 2010. George has been the Executive Artistic Director for The Modern Theater since 2010. When not on stage or at work, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time in the kitchen. George is married to the talented and beautiful Briane Green. He has five incredible daughters that are his inspiration.
Marlee Andrews (Ensemble) is thrilled to be part of such a talented cast and can’t wait to rock the night away! Recently graduated with a Theatre and Psychology BA from EWU, she is no stranger to the stage. Her previous roles include Mrs. Patrick (A Man of No Importance), M’Lynn (Steel Magnolias), Witch #3 (Macbeth), Portia/ Lucilius (Julius Caesar) and Fairy #2 in The Modern-Spokane’s own A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Marlee would like to thank George for an opportunity of a lifetime, along with her friends/ family for their support.
Nick Bailey (Hertz) is excited to be making his Modern Theater debut. A Spokane native and Whitworth U alumnus, Nick spent several years in Los Angeles after college. Most recently seen in Equus at Stage Left Theater, Nick has performed with Spokane Civic Theater, Spokane Opera, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Whitworth University and the Spokane Symphony Chorale. Nick wishes to thank his family and friends for their continued support, but especially his late Mother, who was always his loudest fan.
Brook Bassett (Constance) is the owner of Verve Studio 8 and Co-founder of Cda Murder Mystery Theatre. She is secretary of the Inland Northwest Dance Association and a frequent actor, choreographer and director around the Inland Northwest. Favorite stage roles include Jo in Little Women, Irena Synkova in I Never Saw Another Butterfly and Mrs. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank. She is grateful to have nothing but a good time on the Modern stage! Let’s Rock!
Jesi Be (Justice/Mother) Is thrilled to return to the stage after over a decade. Her tenure of theater in the Lake City spanned nearly 10 years beginning in the late 90’s and included several shows on this very stage. Since then Jesi has enjoyed many adventurous pursuits which included tropical travels and years of joyful bliss singing with local band Jesi B and the All Rites. She thanks her friends, family and her husband Ian for their constant support.
Brendan Brady (Drew) is stoked to be working on such an amazing show with such a stellar cast. Recent roles include Claude (Hair), Angel (RENT), and Enjolras (Les Miserables); his favorite roles include Hanschen (Spring Awakening), Jack (Into the Woods), and Sky Masterson (Guys and Dolls). He is so thankful for George Green and the Modern Theater for the opportunities and their constant support.
Doug Dawson (Denis Dupree) is an award-winning actor who holds a BA in Theatre from EWU. He is a SAG member and can be seen in season one and two of the Syfy Channel’s Z Nation as Skeezy. His is a playwright and composer. His original musical It’ll Come to You will make its world premier at The Modern Theatre in the 2016-17 season. He thanks the audience for being the most important part of theatre.
Paisley DuPuis (Ensemble) is a student at Inspire Connections Academy. She has been dancing since the age of four and takes dance at both Northern Dance Academy and Verve Studio 8. Paisley has performed in many CYT North Idaho shows including; Addams Family (Wednesday), Tarzan (dancer), Seussical (Bird Girl) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (dancer/ Jacobs wife). She is incredibly honored and excited to be involved in her first show with the Modern Theater.
Jerrod Galles (Ensemble) is ready to Rock you like a hurricane! His last appearance on the Modern stage was Avenue Q as a Bad Idea Bear and is ecstatic to return with such a talented cast for an incredible show. He was previously seen in Spokane Civic Theatre’s production of Nunsense A-Men as Sister Leo. Other roles include Tulsa (Gypsy), Fender (Hairspray), Sonny (Grease) and more. Jerrod wants to thank George for this amazing opportunity. Rock on!
Robert Garcia (Joey Primo) is primed and ready to rock for his first official Modern Theater production! A Spokane native, Robert has been seen as part of the ensemble cast of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and as Benjamin Coffin III in RENT.
Alliyiah Gorman (Groupie/Ensemble) is absolutely thrilled to be in her first official Modern show. A 2014 University High school graduate whose previous work includes playing Christmas Eve (Avenue Q) and directing I Never Saw Another Butterfly at University High School. She would like to thank her family for always being so supportive and loving, and George and Mariah for always pushing me to be the best I can be.
Shawn Hunt (Franz) is beyond thrilled to join the wild ride that is Rock of Ages. His most recent work is “Rolf” in the Modern’s production of The Sound of Music. His favorite credits include “Nicky” in Avenue Q, “Enjolras” in Les Miserables, as well as appearances in The Laramie Project, A Christmas Carol, and Honk! The Musical. He is incredibly thankful for everyone who has never stopped believing in him and his dream.
Tre Keough (Ensemble) is excited to be making his first Modern Theater debut in the Inland Northwest! Raised in the area since ’99 he graduated with his AS at NIC in Criminal Justice. He attended Expressions School of the Performing Arts being in dance recitals and competitions. Some of his recent performances include HAIR in Concert (Tribe Member), Traditions of Christmas (Christmas Couple), and Spokane’s Ultimate Model as a dancer. He thanks all of his friends, family and dance teachers for the support.
Daniel McKeever (Lonny) is pumped to be a part of Rock of Ages and to be working with this talented group of actors. No stranger to the Modern Theater, he was last seen as Alan in God of Carnage. Favorite Roles include Dr. Thomas Parker in Bat Boy: the Musical and Franz Liebkind in The Producers. He would like to thank his loving and supportive family and friends. With them anything is possible.
Mathias Oliver (Mayor/Ja’Keith/(Ensemble)) is ecstatic to return to the stage for his first official Modern show! Before a long hiatus, Mathias could be found near or on University High school’s stage. His most recent shows include Jekyll and Hyde the Musical as Ensemble, and Shrek the Musical where he was honored with the role of Donkey. Mathias would like to thank George and Briane Green and his Mother for believing and supporting him
Aubree Peterson (Regina) is amped to hit you with her best shot! She is a 2014 University High School graduate and has been seen on various stages around the area. Favorite roles include Fiona (Shrek the Musical), Pickles (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), and Little Sally (Urinetown). She would like to thank George and Zack Baker for their constant support, her family for their love, and YOU for supporting the arts! ROCK ON!
Angela Pierson (Choreographer/Waitress 1) recently made her way back to the PNW after training in New York City. While living there, she was teaching for Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, and she currently tours with USA Dance, teaching and choreographing throughout California. Favorite credits include,The Producers (Ulla), Annie (Lily St. Regis), and The Count of Monte Cristo (Haydee). Christopher Sweet (Stacee Jaxx) is extremely excited to be working with The Modern Theater this fall for the very first time. He graduated from Western Wyoming Community College with his AA in dance and AFA in Musical Theatre. He is currently attending Central Washington University and is apart of the BFA Musical Theatre program there. He remembers his favorites roles being Huckleberry Finn in Tom Sawyer, Robert Martin in The Drowsy Chaperon and Henry In Next to Normal. He can’t wait to ROCK your socks off!
Jamie Russel (Costumer) joined Lake City Playhouse as Resident Costumer at the start of the 2010-11 Season. Having costumed for variety of production companies throughout the Inland Northwest, she is thrilled to call The Modern Theater home. Jamie costumes many of the main stage at both venues.
Kat Heath (Stage Manager) has been active in theatre throughout the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area for nearly two decades ranging from acting and directing at Modern-CDA and Ignite Community Theatre to educating young actors at Theater Arts for Children. Her performance credits include The Mistress in Evita, Sissy in Piece of My Heart, and most recently, “Mags” in Painting Churches. As a director, her favorite work includes Crimes of the Heart, Underpants and Dearly Departed. She attended EWU where she earned a BA in Theater and English. Kat is incredibly grateful for this thrilling opportunity.
Jenna Clement (Light Board Operator) is glad to return to the Coeur d’Alene for this kick #ss musical. She has previously been involved with shows in Spokane earlier this season including: Boeing Boeing, The Best Brothers, Assassins and Reasons to Be Happy. Thank you for supporting local artists.
